Randy Heckenkemper began his career as a golf course architect in the 1980s and has since designed and remodeled more than 40 golf courses across the United States.
After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Design, Randy began his career working for Poe and Associates. Poe and Associates Planning, Inc. would later partner with Jack Nicklaus and Associates,Inc. where Randy worked as the senior land planner for a partnership.
In 1983, recognizing an opportunity for expansion, Mr. Heckenkemper joined the partnership of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, coordinating the design and construction of several nationally recognized golf courses. After having gained experience in zoning, master and site planning, and golf course design and construction, he ventured out on his own in 1985 and started Heckenkemper Golf Course Design.
For more than three decades, Heckenkemper Golf has built a reputation for delivering top quality projects while providing the highest level of personal service to our clients. Many of his courses have received honors for the quality of their design. Forest Ridge Golf Club in Oklahoma and Stonebridge Meadows Golf Club in Arkansas were honored by Golf Digest as the number four and number 10 courses in their respective states. Also among Heckenkemper courses,is the Sanctuary at Westworld. This course was the first golf course in Arizona and the 17th course in the world to be granted the coveted Audubon Signature Status.

efficient use of a site’s entirety. In fact, on many occasions, we work
side-by-side with our partners at Planning Design Group to design creative land planning
solutions.
In our efforts to provide comprehensive solutions for our clients, Heckenkemper Golf offers a suite of project management services that can enhance project efficiency. These services include but are not limited to: Meeting Coordination, Line-item Budget Management, Ongoing Schedule Management, and Comprehensive Construction Oversight (i.e. clubhouse and other site work).
